An advocacy group says the school system isn't working for disabled students

IHC New Zealand surveyed almost 600 family members, educators and allied professionals on what change they'd like to see.
It forms part of its submission on the Highest Needs Review - a Ministry of Education review focussed on the learning needs of children with high needs.
IHC advocate Trish Grant says those surveyed overwhelmingly say current policies need substantive changes.
She says schools are telling them that as much as they want to do the best by disabled students, they don't have what's needed.
