    There's concern how much the cost of an additional public holiday will impact businesses


    The Matariki Public Holiday Bill has passed its third reading, and will be observed this year on Friday June 24.

    Employers and Manufacturers Association CEO Brett O'Riley says it's great to celebrate matariki - but they'd rather it had replaced an existing public holiday.

    He says a public holiday costs the economy hundreds of millions of dollars.
