Auckland's Mayor has confirmed the city council is running out of money to fund services

Phil Goff says he has no choice but to make the move in his latest budget - thanks to construction costs, supply chain constraints and falling revenue.
Councillors are being briefed at a confidential workshop today.
Auckland Transport's already alerted its running out of money to operate buses and trains and is looking to delay introducing new transport services.
Previous finance papers have mentioned little-used services in South Auckland, Warkworth and Hobsonville as the likely contenders to get the chop.
Cutting grants for the arts sector, environment and natural heritage, library programmes, and the waterway protection fund was also suggested.
