World number one Novak Djokovic has slammed the decision by Wimbledon to ban Russia and Belarussian players from this year's championships because of the invasion of Ukraine

World number one Novak Djokovic has slammed the decision by Wimbledon to ban Russia and Belarussian players from this year's championships because of the invasion of Ukraine

The likes of the world number two Daniil Medvedev and two-times grand-slam champion Victoria Azarenka will be missing from the grass court grand slam.

Speaking after winning his first-round match at the Serbian Open in Belgrade, Djokovic says he will always condemn war but he thinks Wimbledon's decision is crazy.

Djokovic says the tennis players gave nothing to do with war and when politics interferes with sport, the result is not good.
