The Shelly Bay situation may be getting closer to an end

The Shelly Bay situation may be getting closer to an end

Protesters and a local iwi trust have laid a mouri stone at the site this morning as a symbol of unity

Mau Whenua have been occupying the site in Wellington since November 2020 in opposition to a 500 million dollar development.

Taranaki Whanui Settlement Trust Chairperson Kara Puketapu-Dentice says he understands there will be a change in tactics.

He says he understands they will focus on the legal challenge rather than occupying.
