WorkSafe has been advised, after a person was seriously injured at an incident in central Dunedin this morning

The person was taken to hospital after receiving an electric shock at a work site on George Street.

Police says it's expected WorkSafe will lead any investigation into the incident, but at this stage it's not thought to be suspicious.

The work is part of a 28-million dollar upgrade by Dunedin City Council.
