NASA's scrapped the launch of a giant helium balloon today, because of unfavourable weather

NASA's scrapped the launch of a giant helium balloon today, because of unfavourable weather

Unacceptable wind and cloud at Wanaka Airport this morning, meant it couldn't go ahead.

It's hoped conditions will be better tomorrow.

Once launched, the 2.5 tonne super pressure balloon the size of Dunedin's Forsyth Barr stadium, will circle earth for 100 days.
