More than seven-thousand-600 claims include domestic, commercial, vehicle damage - and business interruption.
Insurance Council Chief Executive Tim Grafton says climate driven extreme weather events meant a record year for such claims in 2021, at $324 million.
He says coordinated action to reduce climate change risks must be given a higher priority.
