GPs are preparing for a busy winter as both the flu and Covid-19 brew on the horizon

GPs are preparing for a busy winter as both the flu and Covid-19 brew on the horizon

The Director-General of Health says this current Covid outbreak appears to have plateaued - but another surge could be imminent as case numbers climb.

College of GPs Medical Director Bryan Betty says they're now pushing for people to get vaccinated for the flu.

He says that's probably one of the single most important things we can do to protect ourselves and keep flu numbers down.

Betty says clinics are also looking at their capacity and how to arrange their workforce over the next few months.
