Auckland's Mayor has his eye on the prize this Budget day

Auckland's Mayor has his eye on the prize this Budget day

Phil Goff says the city has already been fortunate this week -- off the back of the Emissions Reduction Plan released on Monday.

It's expected to deliver about 100-million dollars to improve Auckland's bus, walk and cycleways.

But Goff hopes there's further recognition of the city, which houses a third of our population and makes up 38 percent of GDP.

The mayor says Auckland's probably responsible for about 40 percent of Government's overall tax take - so they're looking forward to a good return.
