    It's believed the spate of shootings in Auckland are related to tit-for-tat attacks between two gangs


    Seven firearms incidents were reported overnight in Otara, Papatoetoe, Flat Bush, Papakura, Te Atatu, Mount Albert and Henderson.

    No one was injured, although homes were hit by a spray of bullets.

    Auckland Council member representing Manukau and ex-Police officer Alf Filipaina says it's been brewing for some time.

    He says it's shocking they're prepared to use firearms and risk someone in the community getting seriously injured.
