A group of Wellington businesses have put the brakes on a central city cycleway

A group of Wellington businesses have put the brakes on a central city cycleway

The High Court has granted an interim order to pause the construction of the bike network between Newtown and Courtney Place.

The group argue there was a lack of consultation on the plan.

Building of the cycleway can't continue now till a full hearing later in the year.

Local business owner Myles Gazley says they're pleased with the High Court's decision and hope's their case will see Wellington get fit-for-purpose cycling infrastructure that works for everyone.
