The industry body urged the International Labour Organisation to condemn the proposed Bill in the strongest terms.
It refused - but did remind the Government to consider the full impact of the law.
Workplace Relations and Safety Minister Michael Wood says the ILO has set the record straight -- once and for all.
But Business New Zealand chief executive Kirk Hope says the outcome recognises the Government needs to go back to the drawing board.
He says they're happy with the findings of the committee - and will continue to put pressure on the Government to meet international obligations.
