Dramatic weather continues across the Greater Wellington region

There's a thunderstorm watch in place for most northern and western parts of the country, until tomorrow morning.
MetService forecaster Gerard Bellam says Waikanae's had 40 millimeters of rain in the two hours up to 5 this afternoon.
The capital's been hit with heavy rain, hail and severe winds.
Mr Bellam says Mt Kaukau has had gusts of 131 kilometers an hour this afternoon, and the Wellington Wharves have had gusts reaching 103 kilometers an hour.
