    Five people have been pulled from the water after their boat capsized in Tasman Bay


    Police were alerted About 12.30 to people in trouble at Kaiteriteri's Split Apple Rock - about 150 metres offshore.

    The Nelson Rescue Helicopter, Coastguard, Fire and Emergency and St John ambulance responded.

    The five were taken to shore by a water taxi.

    St John says four patients are in a moderate condition.
