Mt Hutt College deputy principal Kaylib Gorrie has created "Upstanders with Integrity" - an app to help students report bullying.
Footage of a brutal attack at Otago Boys' High School has sparked discussion on how we address the problem.
Gorrie says having more schools with apps similar to his can identify bullying hotspots and transform those areas into positive areas.
He says it could mean putting in extra lighting, placing cameras in the area or having pop-up activities for kids to do in those spaces.
