New Zealand is getting it's first 'Essential Vehicle Area'

A 140 metre stretch of Queen Street in Auckland will be restricted to buses, bikes, mopeds, motorcycles and vehicles transporting goods.
The ban on private vehicles and taxis will run from Aotea Square to near the Civic, applying at all times.
Traffic will also be restricted along parts of Albert Street and Mayoral Drive.
