New Zealand boxer Troy Garton has KO'ed suggestions the sport is at a low ebb in Aotearoa

New Zealand boxer Troy Garton has KO'ed suggestions the sport is at a low ebb in Aotearoa

Boxing New Zealand chair Keith Walker recently expressed disappointment at the state of the code nationally and thought only one fighter was guaranteed Commonwealth Games selection.

But Garton believes all eight boxers selected to compete in Birmingham will do New Zealand proud... even with six Games debutants.

Double gold medallist David Nyika headlines the contingent.
