Applause for the rapid response to a mass stabbing on Auckland's North Shore
24 June 2022
A local man stabbed four people at Murrays Bay - leaving them with moderate injuries - before fleeing to neighbouring Mairangi Bay.
The offender was brought down by bystanders and then apprehended by Police.
He's under guard in Auckland Hospital - no charges have been laid.
Police say the time between the first 111 call and the man's arrest was less than 10 minutes.
Auckland Council member for North Shore Chris Darby is impressed by the speed of response.
He takes his hat off to everybody involved - and his thoughts are with those recovering from their injuries.
