The woman was one of four people injured in what police describe as a "random" attack at Murrays Bay.
She says the incident gave her one hell of a fright, and that she's lucky her wounds were pretty moderate.
A 41-year-old man's been charged with assault and four counts of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
He appeared at Waitakere District Court this morning, did not enter a plea, and was granted name suppression.
He will reappear in court on Monday.
