Efforts to find a swimmer missing at Maruia Falls for over a week continue this weekend

Efforts to find a swimmer missing at Maruia Falls for over a week continue this weekend

The 26-year-old Christchurch man failed to resurface after jumping into the water last Friday.

Yesterday, police and volunteers carried out an extensive search of the pools, including using a camera to look under the waterfall.

Meanwhile - a second team of swimmers with inflatable rescue boats searched the river two kilometres downstream.

Nelson Bays Area Commander Inspector Matt Scoles says they will do all they can to find the man and return him to his family.
