The ACT Party says education needs to be taken seriously

It comes as secondary school attendance rates fall to 54 percent.
Former Education Minister Chris Hipkins told NewsHub Nation some of the attendance numbers involved long weekends and holidays.
ACT Education spokesperson Chris Baillie says the expectation should be that children should attend school all the time.
He says that expectation needs to come from school, government and parents, and if there are problems with that, they need to be addressed.
