    Economic uncertainty is hitting our KiwiSaver balances


    New figures from investment research firm Morningstar suggest about five billion dollars has been wiped from the value of funds in the past three months.

    It follows a 10.2 percent fall in New Zealand's sharemarket and even greater falls in international markets.

    The smallest falls were for conservative funds which saw an average drop of 4.2 percent.

    Balanced funds fell by an average of 7.1-percent, while growth funds decreased by an average of nine-percent.
