This year's NCEA students will receive an extra credit for every five earned through assessment, to support those affected by the Covid pandemic.
The bonus credits will be capped to ten for Level One, and to eight for Levels Two and Three.
Associate Education Minister Jan Tinetti says while some students have been able to overcome this year's disruption, others haven't.
She says it's giving them the helping hand they need, but isn't taking away from their learning as students are still ensuring they're learning at the top level.
