Schools across New Zealand are struggling to fill teacher positions in nearly every subject

Secondary teachers have launched a new campaign calling for the government to invest more in teachers.

PPTA President Melanie Webber estimates there are nearly 400 teaching positions across the country unfilled.

She says the most concerning element is more than ten percent of the positions had no applicants.
