MPI officials are rejecting suggestions China's been banning New Zealand meat imports

The Australian Financial Review is reporting China has suspended imports from Australia and New Zealand out of concerns over foot and mouth disease.
It's citing Chinese media.
Ministry of Primary Industries Market Access Director, Steve Ainsworth, says Kiwi exports to China are continuing as normal.
He says enquiries with Chinese authorities -- including through the New Zealand Embassy in China -- have confirmed our products continue to be cleared through the border.
Our Government stepped up extra measures to stop the bovine disease entering New Zealand.
