    Which horse wins today's Melbourne Cup could come down to the weather


    Emissary trainer Michael Moroney won the great race in 2000 with Brew.

    It's been damp in Victoria, and if Moroney had to have a punt on another mare, the former Matamata man would pick Gai Waterhouse-trained Knights Order, who prefers wet ground.



    The race is set to begin at 5pm.
