A late goal has seen the Black Sticks men beaten 3-2 by Malaysia at the Hockey World Cup in India

New Zealand had recovered from 2-nil down to get it back to 2-all - only for their opponents to score the winner with four minutes remaining.

The Black Sticks finish third in group C with one win in their tournament opener against Chile.

The result is enough for them to qualify for the crossover matches.

They'll face hosts India on Sunday.
