Encouraging signs the Sail GP regatta in Christchurch is tacking in the right direction ahead of its debut at Lyttelton Harbour this weekend

New Zealand's boat skippered by Peter Burling will look to hold on to their top three position with these races the last chance to secure points before the season finale at San Francisco.

Sail GP NZ Chief Commercial Officer Karl Budge says from a set up stand point they're ahead of schedule.

Budge says they're confident the consistent breeze will produce ideal racing conditions.
