    High praise for the SailGP foiling catamaran series from Jimmy Spithill, heading into today's maiden New Zealand leg


    The US helmsman is relishing the extra challenges the competition brings - compared to the America's Cup.

    Spithill shot to fame racing for the Auld Mug, but it's SailGP that's really impressed the Aussie veteran.

    Spithill says the America's Cup is more of a technology and design race.



    Spithill's US team are sixth in the SailGP standings, with racing getting underway at 3pm in Lyttleton.
