A nod to New Zealand's relationship with Maori, from Australia's Deputy Prime Minister

A nod to New Zealand's relationship with Maori, from Australia's Deputy Prime Minister

Richard Marles -- also the Defence Minister -- met with his counterpart Andrew Little in Wellington yesterday.

A referendum later this year proposes to change Australia's constitution -- introducing a federal advisory body on matters related to Indigenous Australians.

Marles says New Zealand sets a benchmark -- and is global best practice when it comes to relations with First Nations people.
