    Shane van Gisbergen has bounced back from last night's costly time penalty to qualify in pole position for this evening's SuperCars sprint race in Sydney


    The defending series champion was in a combative mood after a five-second penalty for bumping Will Brown dropped him from third to seventh in the weekend's opening race.

    "Let's see how they try to take this one off us," van Gisbergen said after topping qualifying.

    The 140 kilometre race starts at 5.30pm.
