Relief for Novak Djokovic after he survived a big scare to advance to the fourth round at the US Tennis Open

Fellow Serbian Laslo Djere took the first two sets off the 23-time Grand Slam champion - before he rattled off the final three sets 6-1 6-1 6-3 to eventually wrap up victory in three hours and 45 minutes.

Djokovic says it was a topsy-turvy third round match.



Elsewhere - women's sixth seed Coco Gauff has come from a set down to beat Belgium's Elise Mertens .

The results sets up a round of 16 clash with former world number one Caroline Wozniacki .

Also through are top seed Iga Swiatek and Frances Tiafoe .
