Queenstown's mayor has lifted the local state of emergency for the area as the clean up continues after heavy rain

Queenstown's mayor has lifted the local state of emergency for the area as the clean up continues after heavy rain

However, the emergency operations centre will continue to operate and some restrictions will remain in place to protect public safety.

All but one road in centre of the resort town have re-opened, but access to the cemetery and wider Ben Lomond Reserve remains off limits.

In the broader district, a handful of roads remain closed, as do some tracks, trails and reserves.
