A Canterbury University student has appeared in court - accused of having offensive weapons in his hall of residence

He's appeared at the Christchurch District Court, charged with possessing a baton and a knife.
Police were called to a university address last Thursday.
Judge Murray Hunt granted the man interim suppression of his name, and any factors leading to his identity and the summary of facts.
He's been remanded on bail to next appear on November 15.
