The top seed from Poland has advanced with a tense three-set win over American Danielle Collins.
Swiatek describes her mindset when she trailed 4-1 in the deciding set - on Sky Sport.
Meanwhile leading men's names Casper Ruud and Alexander Zverev have also survived marathon matches - both needing fifth-set tiebreaks to advance.
Ruud snuck past Australian Max Purcell, while Zverev fought off a superb display from Slovakian qualifier Lukas Klein.
