There'll be a minute's silence across Hawke's Bay at midday to remember victims of Cyclone Gabrielle

There'll be a minute's silence across Hawke's Bay at midday to remember victims of Cyclone Gabrielle

Eleven people died - eight in Hawke's Bay - with hundreds of others rescued, displaced and impacted.

The region's five councils have planned community events.

There'll be civic commemorative services at Napier's Soundshell, Hastings' Civic Square and Waipawa Primary School -- and a community event at Porangahau Hall.

A memorial hikoi will take place in Wairoa, alongside a Mokopuna Day and whanau concert in the evening.

People across the Hawke's Bay region are encouraged to dress in the region's black and white colours.
