    A former police officer is facing charges after allegedly sending sexually explicit messages to an underage girl


    Court documents - which show the Christchurch man's occupation as a police offer - claim he committed the offences throughout a three-week period last February.

    He faces two charges of intentionally exposing a young person to sexually explicit messages on Instagram.

    Police say the man is no longer an employee and are unable to comment further.
