One of Christchurch's most iconic bakeries is on the market for the first time in almost 40 years

One of Christchurch's most iconic bakeries is on the market for the first time in almost 40 years

Kidds Bakery on Cranford Street has made over 120-thousand cakes since starting out in a converted garage in 1985.

The business was named New Zealand bakery of the year in 2010 - and has won gold medals in the Great NZ pie contest.

Owner Martin Meehan says providing the best possible food and service to their customers has always been the focus.

He says they've always stayed within their market of tradies, boomers and families - and it's been a really nice ride.
