Selwyn District Council say they're disappointed to hear about the killing of native long-fin eels in Lincoln over the weekend

Selwyn District Council say they're disappointed to hear about the killing of native long-fin eels in Lincoln over the weekend

A local resident posted to Facebook who witnessed the violent actions of a group of people which left several of the at-risk eels dead in Liffey Stream.

It's illegal to interfere with any animal in a reserve, as part of Selwyn's Parks and Reserves Bylaw.

The council urges anyone who's witnessed any form of animal cruelty to report it immediately to local Police.
