Australia remain largely untroubled on the third day of the first cricket test against New Zealand at Wellington

They have moved through to 113 for 4 at lunch, a lead of 317 runs.

Nightwatchman Nathan Lyon - the batter with the most runs in test cricket without a half century - fell caught to Matt Henry for 41 as he played the hosts' attack with relative ease.

Glenn Phillips also had Usman Khawaja stumped on the attack for 28 with a ball that turned and bounced.

Lyon will no doubt be thrilled about that prospect in the final innings.

That raises further questions about why the Black Caps have failed to employ a specialist themselves for variation in their XI, rather than a fourth right-arm pace bowler.
