Wellington Phoenix's Alyssa Whinham has admitted to reaching mental breaking point midway through this A-League football season

Wellington Phoenix's Alyssa Whinham has admitted to reaching mental breaking point midway through this A-League football season

After playing a crucial role in the midfield for the club's first two campaigns, the 20-year-old has struggled for game time under new coach Paul Temple.

Whinham found it particularly tough during a match week in Auckland in November.

Former vice-captain Chloe Knott left the team following that same Auckland match, saying her values no longer aligned with the club.
