A Police officer has been charged with dangerous driving causing death following their role in a fleeing driver incident

A motorcyclist died in Greenhithe on the Tauhinu Road off-ramp last July.

An officer was initially charged with dangerous driving -- but it was changed to dangerous driving causing death following legal advice.

They've been placed on restricted duties while matters are before the Auckland District Court.

The Independent Police Conduct Authority is also investigating.
