A North Canterbury bar and restaurant has had its liquor licence suspended, after an investigation into drinks served to a man who died in a car crash
5 March 2024
The man died in August 2022, after drinking at Platform Bar Restaurant and Cafe, near Ohoka.
The Alcohol Regulatory and Licensing Authority found he continued to be served, after drinking three pints of beer and five shots - some of them doubles - within 90 minutes.
The Platform is closed from March 1 until 7 due to the licence suspension, although its Facebook page states it's for renovations.
The bar owners, and duty manager, have also had their manager's certificates suspended for between two weeks and a month.
