A Wellington teenager is being sentenced today for attacking a schoolmate with a machete

The Wellington District Court heard the victim's impact statement.

The victim says he almost lost his life, after he was attacked with a machete in his home by his girlfriend's ex-partner.

Crown prosecutors say the attack involved significant pre-meditation, and he should face a minimum of a nine year sentence.
