Video's emerged of tourists Hamish and Oscar Day in an alleged roadside tussle after being pulled over for speeding - with reports the officer's gun went off, although no one was hit.
Thai authorities told a press conference the attack is intolerable and sets a very bad example in the tourist province.
The Bangkok Post reports the island's immigration police chief's been instructed to permanently ban the pair from the country, once their court case is over.
They face charges such as robbery, bribery and assault on a policeman.
