The Hurricanes will welcome back captain Brad Shields for their Super Rugby round five match against Melbourne

The Hurricanes will welcome back captain Brad Shields for their Super Rugby round five match against Melbourne

Shields has yet to take to the field with a foot injury in his first season back in five years but coach Clark Laidlaw has confirmed he's available for the Rebels match in Palmerston North.

Halfback Cam Roigard however will give the Palmy trip a swerve, as he'll be on All Blacks' rest.

Despite going through the opening four rounds unbeaten, Laidlaw says it's not been perfect.
