Banks are ramping up their anti-fraud measures

Banks are ramping up their anti-fraud measures

The New Zealand Banking Association says they're working with the Government on strengthening New Zealand's defences and weakening the ecosystem on which criminals rely.

Chief Executive Roger Beaumont says the banking sector is increasingly concerned about scammers.

He says it's a concern also shared by telecommunication companies, social media companies and governments around the world.

Beaumont says many countries have expressed and agreed to the concern.
