A raw fruit juice product is being recalled - due to potential food safety risks

A raw fruit juice product is being recalled - due to potential food safety risks

The product, branded OFB or Our Fruit Box, hasn't undergone the required checks and balances to make sure it's safe to drink.

The company isn't registered under the Food Act - and has been selling the product door-to-door, at local markets and online.

NZ Food Safety warns pathogens could be present inside the product due to improper handling and a lack of controls.

Drinking the juice could pose a health risk - particularly to people who are young, older, pregnant or have a weakened immune system.

Anyone who has purchased the product is advised to throw it out.
