???1;Further signs of a drop off in building activity

???1;Further signs of a drop off in building activity

Stats NZ figures shows the number of homes consented for the year to February is down 25 percent from the previous 12 months.

Multi unit homes and stand alone homes fell by a similar proportion.

Herald Property Editor Anne Gibson says the downwards trend is not unexpected.

She says it's a continuation of an exceptionally sharp downturn of consents for residential building work.
